Where our funding comes from

Reading CyberTechVault costs nothing. Affiliate commissions pay for our research, our hosting and our editorial time: if you follow a link from this site and then buy a product or subscription, the merchant may pass a small share of that sale to us. The price is identical whether or not you arrive through our link, and occasionally lower when the merchant attaches a promotional discount to it.

How commissions are kept out of our verdicts

• No review is published, or made more favourable, in exchange for money.
• A merchant cannot buy a higher score or a better position in our rankings.
• What we recommend rests on independent lab results and documented product features, never on paid placement.
• Where a free option such as Microsoft Defender genuinely suits you best, we say so.
• Negative findings are published even for products that pay us a commission.

United States: FTC endorsement guides

Under the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's guides on endorsements and testimonials (16 CFR Part 255), we state here that companies whose products appear on CyberTechVault pay us compensation. The opinions we publish remain our own, formed through independent research and editorial assessment.

Norway: Marketing Control Act

As §3 of the Norwegian Marketing Control Act (markedsføringsloven) requires, we disclose that this website carries commercial content, and every link to a merchant is marked as such. The Norwegian Consumer Authority (Forbrukertilsynet) requires advertising to be identifiable; this page is how we meet that requirement.

How affiliate links are coded

Every affiliate link on CyberTechVault carries rel="sponsored nofollow noopener" and opens in a new tab. Each one also has a data-affiliate attribute, which we use for our own click reporting.
